Tess Nelkie is a retired teacher/consultant for deaf and hard of hearing students in Iosco County. Her interests include fishing, photography, birding, and pretty much any outdoor activity.
Tess has been on the Anglers of the Au Sable board since 1992. She chairs the annual “Au Sable River Words’ writing contest and manages the college scholarships that Anglers offers each year to one undergraduate Michigan State University student and one undergraduate Lake Superior State University student from the colleges’ Schools of Natural Resources. Tess also represents the Anglers on the Michigan Hydro Relicensing Coalition, the Lake Huron Citizens Fishery Advisory Committee, and the Coldwater Resources Steering Committee. She is the current secretary for Anglers of the Au Sable.
