Howard (b. 1947) is a retired restaurant owner/operator from Saginaw, Michigan. He and his wife Carolyn are winter residents of Saginaw and pretty much spring, summer, and fall residents of the South Branch of the Au Sable. The family cabin at Chase Bridge has been in the family since 1914.
Howard’s devotion to the river began early in his life on the South Branch. He has been active with the Mershon-Neumann Heritage Chapter of Trout Unlimited as its past-president and current board member, current secretary of the Bay City Hunting and Fishing Club, director of the Au Sable River Property Owners Association and founder/chairman of the Cedars for the Au Sable project.
Howard has recently joined the board of directors of Anglers of the Au Sable and will serve on the Habitat Restoration and Environment Committee where he will continue to apply the concept that if you take care of the trout’s habitat the trout will take care of themselves.
